Hi I’m Kevin Draper, cyclist, triathlete and coach. Are you looking for a way to avoid the hassle of waiting for your bike to be fixed at your local bike shop and save yourself money at the same time?
If you are anything like me repairing and maintaining your road, race or mountain bike can be at the same time the most rewarding and the most frustrating way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Between me and my son we’ve got 7 bikes and there’s always something which either needs replacing, servicing, repairing or tweaking.
Renowned bike mechanic Dave Delgado has put together an amazing website with loads of free information and tips on how to maintain and repair your bike. He also has an excellent comprehensive program available. Check out the details here or read on for my detailed review.
When it goes right you get that wonderful feeling of satisfaction that comes from having mastered something that most people don’t even bother attempting, and at the same time saving yourself a packet!
When it goes wrong, you are left trying to scout the good and bad YouTube tutorials to put right what you’ve just done and avoid an embarrassing and COSTLY admission of failure at the Local Bike Shop.
What you and I need is a trusted expert to go to every time and to talk us through the process. Giving the encouragement to take on a new project, safe in the knowledge that you’ve got that expert alongside you all the way. I’ve done more than my share of YouTube searches, trying to figure out if the person I was listening to actually knew what they were doing or if it related to the bike I was working on.
What I wanted was an all inclusive, one-stop-shop which I could go straight to when I needed to do some work on the bikes. Finally I found what I’d been looking for when I came across Dave Delgado’s DIY Bike Repair Course.
For the price of an hour’s labor at the bike shop I got exactly the comprehensive, easy to follow series of guides I wanted. Not just the repairs but also the important maintenance and tuning tips which save so much on wear and tear. With the full refund available if I wasn’t happy within 60 days what was there to lose! In the end it’s saved me the cost many times over. My only gripe is that I missed out on the amazing deal that’s running at the moment – my loss is your gain I guess!
If you’re interested here’s the link to Dave’s website with more details of what’s on offer. Or read on for my detailed review.
This is my review of the product, what you get for your money, I cover both the pros and cons.

What I Like:
An All-In-One Product
DIYBikeRepair covers almost everything you need to know about bike repair. Whether you need a simple fix or an upgrade, DIYBikeRepair handles it. The great thing about it is the all-inclusive nature of the training which comprises of videos and manuals. It makes things a lot easier when you have someone explaining concepts to you.
I also enjoyed the bonuses that are included in the offer. The extra manuals are well worth the original price.
The 60 day money back guarantee is excellent – it gives you two months to try it out with a no obligation refund if you’re not happy with it. I like seeing a merchant who stands behind their product 100%. It puts you at ease, knowing that you wont lose anything if you choose to not use the system.
What I Don’t Like
The regular edition has only a small section covering racing bikes. The vast majority of training covers mountain and road biking (which is very extensive!). If you want comprehensive coverage of racing bikes, you should get the VIP deluxe edition.
Do I Recommend It?
Absolutely. This is by far the most comprehensive course available on bike repair and maintenance. Other courses are limited in scope and the good ones are only available in book format. DIYBikeRepair goes the extra mile in providing step-by-step videos on top of fully illustrated books. I reckon it must have saved me the asking price many times over already.
P.S IMPORTANT NOTE: I’ve just been told, DIYBikeRepair is currently running a huge promotion. Normally it sells for over $150, they have slashed the regular price down to $47 (about the cost of one hour of your local bike shop’s time!)…for now.
